Home of Laura Seppänen

Dit is het huis van Laura Seppänen, gelegen in hartje Helsinki. Laura is een interieurdesigner en webredactrice bij het Finse woonmagazine Scandinavian Deko. Haar witte en lichte appartement is overladen met licht dankzij haar hoge plafonds en grote ramen. Haar stijl is Scandinavisch (natuurlijk!), maar ze maakt ook graag hier en daar gebruik van etnische details om wat warmte binnen te brengen.

Haar favoriete stukken in huis zijn de zwarte acapulco stoel en de grijze Söderhamn chaise longue.

This is the home of Laura Seppänen, located in the center of Helsinki, who is an interior designer and web editor of Finnish home decor magazine Scandinavian Deko. Her white and light apartment is filled with light, thanks to her high ceilings and huge windows. Laura has decorated her home in Scandinavian style (of course!),  but is not afraid to add some ethnic touches. 

Her favorite pieces are the black acapulco chair and the grey Söderhamn chaise longue.

Renovating a 1960s cigar box

Rikke and Claus hadden hun gedachten gezet op een nieuwbouw, maar ze verloren beiden hun hart in dit 'sigarendooshuis' uit de jaren '60. Na een intense renovatie, hebben ze dit huis omgetoverd naar een warm familienest.

Rikke and Claus had their brains set on a newly built house, but their hearts fell in love with this 'cigar box' from the 1960s. After a long and tough renovation, they transformed this home into a warm family retreat.

Easy DIY: Starry starry night

Zoete dromen gegarandeerd! Deze leuke en supersimpele DIY vond ik op Deasogmia. Dit kan je gemakkelijk zelf maken voor boven het kinderbedje, of zelfs boven je eigen bed. Waarom niet?!

Een heel plafond vol geeft een fantastisch effect!

Met wat (gekleurd) karton of stevig papier en wat visdraad, heb je deze sterrenhemel in 1-2-3 gefixt. De draadjes maak je vast aan het plafond met wat (washi)tape of kleine haakjes.

Sweet dreams! Look at this cute and super-easy DIY, found on Deasogmia. This can easily be made to hang above a crib or your own bed (why not!)! Imagine a ceiling full of stars? 

With some (colored) cardboard, thin plastic thread, this starry sky is made in 1-2-3. You can use some (washi)tape or small hooks to attach the tread on your ceiling.

Holiday home in Palm Springs

 Sommige kwatongen beweren dat de zomer reeds gedaan is, maar ik weiger dit te geloven. Vooral na zo'n dag als vandaag. Daarmee nog wat zomerinspiratie voor jullie!

Onderstaand paradijsje is het vakantiehuis van Sarah en Murray Bancroft en hun 2 dochters, Emmanuelle en Charlotte, in Palm Springs (CA).

Zij renoveerden dit jaren '50 huis in enkele maanden tijd en maakten er een licht en kleurrijke onderduikplaats van. Ideaal om van die dagelijkse stress te kunnen ontsnappen. Genieten maar!
